…vows to deal with Illegal Collectors .
The Director General of Oyo State Signage and Advertisement Agency (OYSAA), Hon. Temilola Segun Adibi, has harped on the need for commercial vehicle operators in the State and concerned people to remit their Mobile Advertisement Tax Into Agency’s Coffer in due course.
The agency boss disclosed this while speaking with Journalists in his Office, at the Agodi, Secretariat, Ibadan, said that the mobile Advert Tax has been withdrawn from Local Government Authority since the establishment of Oyo State Signage and Advertisement Agency (OYSAA)
“The authority to collect Mobile Advert Tax has long been withdrawn from the Local Government Authority since the establishment of Oyo State Signage and Advertisement Agency (OYSAA).”
He said that legal action will be taken against any Local Government Official or unauthorized individual who interrupt the activities of the Agency.
Hon. Temilola Adibi maintained that the established Law of the State Signage Agency (OYSAA) gave the agency the power and everything that takes to regulate, control and administer everything that has to do with Advertisement all over the State.
According to him, ‘when an organization buys a mobile sticker in Oyo State for his or her vehicle, the vehicle is entitled to use the sticker across the country and that is why we call it a national programme.’
He maintained that advertisement agencies all over the world are expected to pay fees for displaying their advertisement boards to the coffer of the Government, hence, there is need for all the company concerned to fulfill their obligations to the Government.
He said that all vehicles whether cars, trucks, buses, or pick-ups that have any form of advertisement on them are to have the mobile sticker’s from accredited agent of the Agency. He stated that Sticker is another form of tax payment to the Government to boost the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) of the State.
