Oyo State Government has urged the Out – Of – Home Advertising Association of Nigeria to sustain and sanitize the advertising industry in Nigeria and Oyo State in particular by uphold the standard of professionalism and compliance in discharge of their services.
Barrister Lawal gave this change during the 39th edition of the Annual General Meeting, AGM of the Out – Of – Home Advertising Association of Nigeria (OAAN) with the theme; “Redefining Out Of Home Media in Nigeria; The Practice, The Business and Value Creation” which was held at De Signature Hotel and Tower, Jericho, Ibadan.
The Acting Governor in his speech highlighted the critical role Out of Home Advertising industry plays in development, commercial value, aesthetic beautification and visual landscape of Oyo State.
Barrister Lawal added that it’s through collaborative efforts to ensure a vibrant environment to put the State forward in the area if advertising which has direct effect on investment, Tourism and other aspects of environmental development.
He reiterated the role and activities of outdoor advertising Practitioners which ensures the aesthetic beauty of surroundings through well placed structures erected with well appealed, communicated messages with texts & work of art and signs.
He further commended the effort of the State Government under the administration of Engr. Seyi Makinde for continuous unwavering efforts in creating an enabling business and economic growing environment, innovations to ease business of Outdoor Advertising by expanding economy status of Oyo State.
In his word, “Oyo State has an elastic and expanding business opportunities for outdoor advertising business to thrive and your presence in our State reflects a shared vision for progress and mutual benefits, innovations and pursuit of excellence in the outdoor advertising industry.
“Oyo State has long been recognized as center of economic excellence, from the history city of Ibadan, Ibadan stands as a beacon of intellectual and political significance in agriculture, industrial sector to drive our economy, so Oyo State has been in forefront on Nigeria growth and advancement.
Barr. Lawal encouraged the Out – Of – Home Advertising Association of Nigeria to engage their discussion and deliberation on their 39th edition of their AGM to expand advantage and opportunities that the State offers to build a brighter and prosperous for all.
In his remark, the Director General, Oyo State Signage and Advertisement Agency, OYSAA, Hon. Oludolapo Eso Ajanaku, appreciate the opportunity given by Oyo State Government for the vision to create and uphold professionalism in the aspects of outdoor advertising industry. He added that the agency would soon embark on proper enumeration and removal of dilapidated and substandard billboard structures.
Earlier in his opening address, the President of Out – Of – Home Advertising Association of Nigeria, Mr. Sola Akinsilu appreciated the Oyo State Government for creating an enabling friendly environment for business to strive.
Among Government dignitaries in present were, the Commissioner of Information and Orientation, Prince Dotun Oyelade, Chairman of Oyo State Broadcasting Corporation, BCOS, Mrs. Dotun Olaitan and the Director General of Oyo State Mobilisation Agency for Socio – Economic Development, Dr. Morohunkola Thomas among others.
