Illegal Billboard! OYSAA Seek Operation Burst Support to End The Fraudulent Act

In order to stop the illegal, sub standard and derelict billboards in the State, Oyo State Signage and Advertisement Agency (OYSAA) seek the support of the Operation Burst in the fight against the signage problem in the State.

The Director General (DG) of OYSAA Mr Oludolapo Eso-Ajanaku made this known during the courtesy visit he paid to the Director General of Operation Burst Col. James Ajibola (Rtd) in his office in Ibadan.

Mr Oludolapo Eso-Ajanaku stated that the State Government under the leadership of His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde FNSC will not allow the illegal act of unauthorized billboards and other irregularities going on in the State signage sector by some unscrupulous individual/practitioners and the State Government is ready to sanitize the State signage through the Signage Laws.

The DG appreciated the Operation Burst for their support to the State Government in maintaining security of life and properties. After which he urged the security agency to support OYSAA in their enforcement exercise because presently, the illegal signage practitioners are on rampage with the believe that they cannot be caught.

In his own reply, the DG of Operation Burst Col. James Ajibola (Rtd) appreciated the State Government for her support in the provisions of security cars, pick up, security gargets among others to the security agency.   He then stated that the security agency is ready at anytime to support OYSAA in her fight against any irregularities in the State signage sector.

Col. James Ajibola stated further that the security agency will not condone any illegal and unauthorized billboard on the street and any billboard or practitioners caught will be seriously prosecuted.

Strengthen of Religious Harmony: Makinde Orders Signage Removal

To foster religious harmony in Oyo State, His Excellency. Governor Seyi Makinde has mandated the removal of a signage at Yidi, a Muslim prayer ground in Ibadan, seen as a potential source of religious discord.

The directive was revealed by Mr. Oludolapo Eso-Ajanaku, Director-General of the Oyo State Signage and Advertisement Agency (OYSAA), during a media briefing in Ibadan. He underscored the Governor’s firm stance against actions or rhetoric that could spark religious unrest, affirming the State’s dedication to ensuring the freedom of religious practice as a key factor in maintaining peace.

Mr. Eso-Ajanaku pointed out that installing religious signs near other faiths’ worship sites is not permissible, as it could lead to conflict. He criticized certain advertisers for their disregard for the industry’s ethical standards, emphasizing that advertisements likely to incite conflict on any grounds, including religion, are strictly prohibited.

He concluded with a stern warning that OYSAA will rigorously enforce these rules, penalizing and potentially banning advertisers who fail to comply with the State’s guidelines for responsible advertising.

In its continuous commitment to uphold the highest standards in the management and regulation of signages and billboards, the Oyo State Signage and Advertisement Agency (OYSAA) is taking significant steps to reinforce its enforcement procedures.
