EID CELEBRATION: OYSAA Felicitates With Muslim Faithful

Oyo State Signage and Advertisement Agency (OYSAA) has felicitated with general Muslims in the State on the successful completion of this year Ramadan fasting.

In an Eid-el-Fitr message by the Director General of the Agency Hon. Temilola Segun Adibi said the lesson of self restraint, sacrifice, charity, fear of Allah, devotion and love of mankind imbibed during the period must continue all year round.

Hon. Temilola Adibi a formal member of the House of Representatives and a one-time Chairman of Ogbomosho North Local Government emphasises the need to consistently pray for our dear country that we experience a lot of security challenges. He specifically call on the residents of the State both citizens and non citizens to continue showering prayers to the State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde on his ambitions and a successful completion of all the projects he started.

As the nation is on the march to full political activities, Hon. Temilola Adibi appealed to all stakeholders to play the game with fear of God and be fair to all concerned with the hope that all shall give account of their deeds on the day of reckoning.

He stated further that, prayer is the sword of believers, hence, Muslims are however advised to continue to pray fervently to Allah, for peace, security and well-being of the State.

May Oyo State continue to grow from strength to strength, guide our leaders right and the follower to do the right things. Amin.

OYSAA Unveils Principle for Advertisement

Oyo State Signage and Advertisement Agency (OYSAA), has unveiled a new principle for advertisement in the State to boost revenue generation and  curb leakages.

The new principle mandates advertising practitioner to do fresh registration, revalidation, submission of Environment Impact Assessment (EIA), payment of presumptive tax of #3000, and annual renewal of permit which shall be valid for 10 years.

The Director General of the Agency, Hon Temilola Segun Adibi while unveiling the new principle for advertisement at the 2022 stakeholder forum of third party practitioners in  Oyo State held at the House of Chiefs, State Secretariat, Ibadan said  the new idea would be supported by Geographic Information System (GIS).

The Director General, a one -time member of House of Representative and former Chairman of Ogbomosho North Local Government who was represented by the Director, Admin and Supplies of the agency, Mr Oyetunji Okanlawon said the State adopted the new principle in recognition of the need to over haul advertising practise there by improving the advertisement landscape in the State.

He charged the business community and other stakeholders to key into the new principle by ensuring regular and prompt payment of dues as well as abiding by the codified rules and regulations of OYSAA.

Speaking at the event, Lead consultant in the informal sector in Oyo State and Chief Executive Officer, ITC Advisory service, Mr. Tunde Adaramaja said the consultants are going all out to sanitise  the advertising space of Oyo State with enforcement of rules and regulation of OYSAA while not hesitating to blacklist illegal operators.

Also speaking, consultant to OYSAA, third party and Lead partner, BPLAN Advisory services, Mr. Yomi  Owojori said the State Government has given them a mandate to stamp out indiscriminate structures,  illegal    practitioners and illegal bill boards.

He added that the consultant had a mandate to block all leakages, ensure every statutory advertising revenues is in the coffers of the State Government and capture certified practitioners  into its data base using Geographic Information System (GIS).

Commenting on the new principle, the Director of Operation of OYSAA, Mr Lateef Adesina Lawal said  upon fresh registration of  practitioners, a newly designed registration code is to be issued aside from identification tag and electronic tagging put at #5000 per tag.

Mr Lawal noted that, practitioners would not only submit  EIA, Structural Designs and Insurance Policy of their structures, but the prescribed permit shall only be renewed if the agency is satisfied with performance of the advertising operators.

Safety Alert: OYSAA to order Removal of Substandard Advertising Structures.

As part of it mandate at ensuring safety of lives and properties of every citizen from outdoor advertisement structure in the State, Oyo State Signage and Advertisement Agency  (OYSAA) will order removal of substandard advertising structures or billboards in the State.

The Director General of the Agency, Hon. Temilola Segun Adibi disclosed this during the inspection and monitoring of some collapsed outdoor structures in the State after a heavy down pour that occurred in some area of Ibadan.

Hon. Temilola Adibi, a one-time member of the House of Representative and former Chairman of Ogbomosho North Local Government stated that prior to this time, the Agency has sent letter to Advertising Practitioner Council of Nigeria (APCON) along with the Outdoor Advertising Association of Nigeria (OAAN) with 14 days ultimatum to mandate all Advertising Practitioners in the State to submit their Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and Structural Drawings of their Boards or forfeit them to the Agency.

The Director General stated further that the Agency has also urged all Practitioners earlier to make sure their Boards were perfectly placed as the rain season begin, to ensure safety of life and properties.

Hon. Adibi maintain that the Agency will not condone any practitioners who fail to submit their EIA and Structural Drawing of their Board on or before the 14 days ultimatum.

He explained that OYSAA will embark on aggressive removal of any Advertising practitioners billboards who fail to comply with the request of the Agency and billboard confiscated will be forfeited.

Oyo Goes After Defaulters, Removing Illegal Billboards

Oyo State Government through the State Signage and Advertising Agency (OYSAA), has embarked on aggressive debt recovery exercise via removal of unauthorized and debtors billboards across the State.

The Director General of the Agency Hon. Temilola Segun Adibi gave the directive for the enforcement after the Management meeting of the Agency in his Office, Secretariat, Ibadan.

Adibi, a one-time member of the House of Representative and former Chairman of Ogbomosho North Local Government noted that prior to this time, the Agency has warned the Advertising Practitioners and other Stakeholders to regularize their unapproved billboards and pay their debts or forfeit them to the Agency.

Hon. Temilola Adibi maintained that OYSAA will not condone any illegal billboards on the street and the Agency would clampdown on any Advertising Practitioner who failed to comply with the rules and regulations of the Agency.

The Director of Operation Mr. Lawal Adesiyan during the enforcement exercise admonished the Advertising Practitioners and other Stakeholders to fulfill their financial obligations to the State Government by paying all their outstanding debts and remit it to OYSAA Office.

In her own contribution, the Director Finance and Account Mrs. Lydia Adedeji stated that this enforcement exercise would not going to be business as usual but business with decorum so as to boost the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) of the State.

2022 MOBILE STICKERS: OYSG Caution Use of Counterfeit Stickers

Oyo State Government cautions vehicle, motorbike operators, corporate bodies, others against using mobile advert stickers not produced by State, Vows to punish defaulters henceforth

Oyo State Government, on Tuesday, cautioned vehicle, tricycle and motorbike operators and other corporate bodies operating a fleet of vehicles in the State against importing or using mobile advert stickers different from the ones produced by the Oyo State Signage and Advertisement Agency (OYSAA).

The Director-General of the agency, Hon. Temilola Adibi, who gave the warning during the launching of 2022 OYSAA Mobile Advert Stickers at the State secretariat, insisted that anyone or corporate body caught flouting the directive would be duly prosecuted.

While calling for sustainable synergy between mobile sticker consultants and interested parties based on trust in the interest of all, He noted that revenue sub-consultants, as well as vendors, should represent the State well in the discharge of their assignment on the field in line with the provided extant laws.

Speaking further, He explained that the 2022 mobile advert stickers as unveiled was meant to be administered on branded vehicles belonging to individuals and corporate enterprises, adding that the Government has intensified effort in getting rid of charlatans disguising as Government officials to collect revenue from the public.

In his remark at the event, the chairman of Oyo State Board of Internal Revenue, Femi Awakan, said the State Government has remained committed to boosting the State revenue to facilitate socio-economic development, urging stakeholders to cooperate with the Government.

Also speaking at the event, Managing Director of the ITC Advisory Services, Hon. Tunde Adaramaja, in his remarks, also urged all stakeholders to patronise the agency and play their part in the development of the State.

He also charged the OYSAA to take appropriate steps in creating awareness to residents of the State about the availability and sales of the stickers, as well as ensure there is compliance and adequate enforcement of rules and regulations.

He said: “The truth is we need to play our part in improving the economy of this State. We must also have it at the back of our mind that His Excellency Gov. Seyi Makinde needs to be encouraged by doing our bit because sales of these stickers mean revenue for our Government.”

He, however, assured that appropriate and necessary procedures will be put in place to ensure the seamless and swift sale of the Mobile Stickers to stakeholders involved in the State.

OYSAA GOES AFTER DEFAULTERS, BEGINS TOTAL ENFORCEMENT

Oyo State Signage and Advertisement Agency (OYSAA) has embarked on total enforcement exercise across the State in a bid to ensure defaulters pay dues accrued to the agency.

The Director General of the Agency Hon. Temilola Segun Adibi, disclosed this while addressing journalists in his Office, Secretariat, Ibadan.

Hon. Temilola Adibi stated that prior to this time, the Agency has warned the Advertising Practitioners, Multinational Corporate concerns and other Stakeholders to regularise their statutory obligations and pay up debts owed the agency.

Adibi, condemned the lackadaisical attitude of some stakeholders who are not willing to pay their dues, stating that they would be sanctioned in line with the dictate of OYSAA rules and regulations.

He noted that it would not going to be business as usual, as the agency is poised to act accordingly to ensure things are done as they are supposed to.

The former member of the House of Representatives maintained that OYSAA will not condone any sharp practices and proliferation of Illegal structures on the street stating that OYSAA  would clampdown on any Advertising Practitioners, Multinational Companies and others Stakeholders who failed to comply with the rules and regulations of the Agency.

Safety of Lives and Properties: OYSAA to order Removal of Illegal Billboards

As a way to ensure safety of Lives and Properties of every citizen from power lines, the Oyo State Signage and Advertisement Agency (OYSAA) will order removal of Illegal billboards under the power lines that may cause hazard to the communities.

The Director General of the Agency Hon. Temilola Segun Adibi disclosed this during the courtesy visit of Ibadan Electrical Distribution Company (IBEDC) paid to him in his Office, Secretariat, Ibadan.

Hon. Temilola Adibi stated that all the billboards erected and installed on power line right of way are against the agreement signed by the Agency with the Advertising Practitioners. He said the Agency will first sensitize and engage the perpetrators instead of using force. Means of enforcement will be last resorts.

He stated further that, Governor Seyi Makinde is more interested in positive change through dialogue and engagement than the outright use of force. That is why the Agency will engage the Advertising Practitioners to correct the anomalies.

The Director General maintained that the established law of the State Signage Agency (OYSAA) gave the agency the power to regulate, control and administer advertisement all over the State. He said after the sensitization and engagement of the practitioners, legal action will be taken against any advertising practitioners who fail to regularize their billboards.

In his own remarks, the Chief Operation Officer of IBEDC, Engr. John Ayodele who was represented by the Head, Safety and Environment, Engr. Abiodun Dirisu appreciated the Agency (OYSAA) for the way of regulating, controlling and administered the advertisement in the State. He then appealed to billboards owners to always respect the right of way for power line in their effort at installing and erecting billboards around the service area to ensure safety of lives and properties.

He maintained that owners and users of signage all over the world are expected to pay fees for their campaigns to the coffer of the Government. Hence, there is need for the Advertising Practitioners to fulfill their obligations to the Government.

OYSAA Harps on Payment of Mobile Advert Tax Into Agency’s Coffer

…vows to deal with Illegal Collectors .

The Director General of Oyo State Signage and Advertisement Agency (OYSAA), Hon. Temilola Segun Adibi, has harped on the need for commercial vehicle operators in the State and concerned people to remit their Mobile Advertisement Tax Into Agency’s Coffer in due course.

The agency boss disclosed this while speaking with Journalists in his Office, at the Agodi, Secretariat, Ibadan, said that the mobile Advert Tax has been withdrawn from Local Government Authority since the establishment of Oyo State Signage and Advertisement Agency (OYSAA)

“The authority to collect Mobile Advert Tax has long been withdrawn from the Local Government Authority since the establishment of Oyo State Signage and Advertisement Agency (OYSAA).”

He said that legal action will be taken against any Local Government Official or unauthorized individual who interrupt the activities of the Agency.

Hon. Temilola Adibi maintained that the established Law of the State Signage Agency (OYSAA) gave the agency the power and everything that takes to regulate, control and administer everything that has to do with Advertisement all over the State.

According to him, ‘when an organization  buys  a mobile sticker in Oyo State for his or  her vehicle, the vehicle is entitled to use the sticker across the country and that is why we call it a national programme.’

He maintained that advertisement agencies all over the world are expected to pay fees for displaying their advertisement boards to the coffer of the Government, hence, there is need for all the company concerned to fulfill their obligations to the Government.

He said that all vehicles whether cars, trucks, buses, or pick-ups that have any form of advertisement on them are to have the mobile sticker’s from accredited agent of the Agency. He stated that Sticker is another form of tax payment to the Government to boost the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) of the State.
