The Oyo State Government, through the Oyo State Signage and Advertisement Agency (OYSAA), has commenced an immediate debt recovery and enforcement campaign targeting all unauthorized, illegal, and indebted advertising structures across the state.
This development was announced by the Director General of OYSAA, Hon. Oludolapo Eso Ajanaku, during a media briefing held at the Agency’s headquarters in Ibadan.
Hon. Ajanaku noted that a significant number of outdoor advertising practitioners have failed to comply with the Agency’s ongoing Revalidation and Debt Reconciliation exercises, and have yet to fulfill their financial obligations to the State. He emphasized that the Agency is owed a substantial sum, prompting the decision to commence immediate enforcement action.
He further condemned the indiscriminate erection of billboard structures without prior approval, the absence of official identification tags, and the use of substandard materials—all of which violate regulatory standards and will no longer be tolerated.
To address these issues, OYSAA has launched a state-wide, multi-platform awareness campaign via electronic and outdoor media, urging all duly registered Third-Party Practitioners to:
• Complete their Revalidation Exercise by July 11, 2025
• Conclude their Debt Reconciliation Process by July 28, 2025
In addition, all business owners with signage installations within Oyo State are advised to regularize their structures by visiting the OYSAA office at:
3rd Floor, Water Corporation Building, Secretariat, Ibadan.
The Director General further stated:
“OYSAA will not condone illegal, unapproved, or untagged billboard structures within Oyo State. Enforcement will be firm, immediate, and consistent. Any practitioner found violating the Agency’s regulations will face the full weight of enforcement action.”
It will be recalled that OYSAA recently initiated a comprehensive Revalidation Exercise aimed at strengthening regulatory oversight, enhancing transparency, and improving operational efficiency. These reforms are part of the Agency’s broader mandate to create a more accountable and business-friendly advertising environment in the Pacesetter State.
